The laboratory was constructed in January 2021 under the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. Focusing on major scientific and technological issues related to the quality and safety of agricultural products in China and based on the forefront of international agricultural product quality and safety disciplines, the laboratory conducts major basic and applied research and key technological innovation around three research directions: quality and safety process control of agricultural products, quality and safety hazard factor pollution mechanism of agricultural products, and quality and safety risk assessment of agricultural products. Targeting the major dominant and unique agricultural products in the eastern coastal areas of China, the laboratory conducts in-depth research on nine key areas, including the epidemic mechanism and prediction warning of harmful organisms in the production of agricultural products, innovation of harmful organism harm mechanism and resistance germplasm, green prevention and control theory and technology based on animal and plant health, pollution mechanism of chemical pollutant on agricultural products, pollution mechanism of harmful microbial on agricultural products, ecological toxicology of main pollutants in agricultural products, nutritional evaluation and functional factor mining of agricultural products, traceability and authenticity identification of the origin of agricultural products, and product quality and safety risk assessment and standards for agricultural products.
