Approved for construction by the National Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in September 2022, the laboratory focuses on the industrial bottlenecks faced by the aquaculture industry in the East China Sea region, such as the degradation of main species germplasm, frequent occurrence of diseases and pollution, and the compressed space of aquaculture industry. The research primarily focuses on the following four aspects: 1 Selection of important marine aquaculture varieties and development of new breeding targets; 2. Immunity and disease prevention & control technologies of marine animals and plants; 3. Nutrient needs of aquatic animals and feed/bait development; 4. Ecosystem aquaculture technologies. Through basic and applied research, the laboratory aims to break through key technologies for the green development of marine aquaculture in the East China Sea region, satisfying the needs of local industries and major national strategies.
