(I) Foundation, advantages, and features of teamwork Fundamentals of teamwork: The academic research undertaken by team members covers multiple interdisciplinary fields such as molecular immunology, reproductive development and endocrinology of crabs, and bioinformatics. The team has published over 100 SCI academic papers in international journals such as Nature Communications, Reproduction, Frontiers in Physiology, General and Comparative Endocrinology, Cell Stress, and Chaperones, and obtained more than 20 authorized national invention patents, edited one work in chief and collected more than 10 scientific and technological awards at national, provincial, and municipal levels. Furthermore, the team has undertaken nearly 20 key research and development projects under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Advantages and features of a team: The research on functional genes, molecular markers, genetic maps, and whole genome undertaken by the team involves the core content of molecular genetics, and the academic achievements have effectively promoted the development of molecular genetics and genetic breeding of crabs. The sex determination mechanism proposed by the team and the predicted male-specific sex regulation pathway in crabs have enriched people's understanding and awareness of the diversity of sex determination in arthropods, the largest group in the animal kingdom. The first high-density genetic linkage map constructed and the successfully assembled crab genome map have comprehensively mastered the genetic resources of crabs and their association with economic traits, laying a foundation for in-depth exploration and implementation of genetic manipulation of key target genes.
