Research team on aquaculture engineering
Foundation of teamwork: The academic research undertaken by team members covers multiple research directions, including environmental biotechnology, research and development of aquatic pathogen detection technology and equipment, marine crustacean immunology, structural biology of marine invertebrates, efficacy factor screening and safety evaluation for aquatic products. The team has published nearly 200 SCI academic papers in international TOP journals such as Aquaculture, Joule, Environmental Science and Technology, Food Chemistry, Food Science, and Human Wellness, and obtained more than 20 authorized invention patents. The team has also participated in the compilation of 2 works, undertaken 21 scientific research projects in the ocean public welfare industry, key research and development projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 13 provincial-level projects, and has received governmental science and technology funding support exceeding RMB 25 million. Moreover, considering the needs of the aquaculture industry, the team actively solved the technical difficulties faced by the enterprises and obtained more than RMB 8 million of horizontal funding support from the enterprise and achieved transformation up to RMB 16 million.
Advantages and features of team: taking the water environment of aquaculture as the main research object, the research team provided rapid and accurate detection of aquatic pathogens and disease warning, built an on-site detection platform that can be used in frontline aquaculture environments, and constructed intelligent aquaculture water treatment technology; established the comprehensive research platform for efficacy factors of marine animals, molecular biological technology system for marine pathogenic microorganisms, multi-omic joint analysis platform for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, research platform for the structure and function of marine efficacy proteins, and bioinformatics analysis platform. In the context of the ocean health industry, the research team, centered on the needs of aquaculture, studies the pathogenic mechanisms of common aquatic pathogens using multi-omic technology and molecular biological means, analyzes the functional mechanisms of active substances from multiple levels of gene structure morphology function ecology, expands the application of traditional marine active substances in prebiotics, and promotes the sustainable and healthy development of aquaculture industry.
